Steamworks Pub at Railroad Square Is One of Downtown New Port Richey’s Greatest Success Stories
There are some businesses in Downtown New Port Richey that you don’t spotlight right away—not because they aren’t deserving, but because you know when you do, it needs to be done right.
And if I’m being honest… I’ve been holding off on this one for a while.
I’ve been waiting for Railroad Square to be fully finished before writing about Steamworks Pub, because Seth and Tara deserve the spotlight at their absolute best—and after this weekend’s ribbon cutting, today finally feels like the day.
If you’ve spent any time in Downtown New Port Richey, chances are you already know Steamworks.
If you know my mother, chances are she’s dragged you there for one of their craft martinis.
But what many people may not realize is that Steamworks is so much more than just a neighborhood pub.
Seth and Tara have built one of the most respected businesses in Downtown New Port Richey—not just because of the food or atmosphere, but because of the way they show up for this community.
Why I Love This Place
Truthfully?
Watching how Seth and Tara built Steamworks played a major role in inspiring me to become part of the downtown community myself.
Long before I ever had a business here, I watched what they were creating—how packed the place always was, how people rallied around them, and how intentionally they built not just a bar… but a destination.
They care deeply about this town.
They support causes across all economic levels of our community.
And somehow, Tara in particular seems to operate on a superhuman schedule while doing it.
Steamworks is one of those rare businesses where the owners don’t just run the place—they help shape the culture around it.
What They Offer
Let’s address the obvious:
Yes, Steamworks is known for their craft cocktails and martinis.
Yes, the place is almost always packed.
And yes—the food is every bit as good as the drinks.
Despite having a relatively small indoor footprint, their kitchen consistently puts out some of the best food in Downtown New Port Richey.
But one of the smartest things they’ve done?
They turned a space limitation into a strategic advantage.
Now that Railroad Square is complete and the construction barriers are gone, Steamworks sits in one of the best locations downtown—with expanded outdoor seating and constant foot traffic surrounding them.
Even cooler:
Their team runs food to neighboring bars that don’t have kitchens.
That means whether you’re seated at Steamworks or hanging nearby enjoying the atmosphere, you can still enjoy their food.
That level of operational creativity is exactly why they continue to thrive.
